When it comes to picking the perfect getaway for your summer holidays, it can be a daunting task to say the least. Whether or not you have children can plan a huge role in where you choose to go and when, especially if your kids can be picky and demanding and hard to please. While it’s easy to just stay home and do the same old routine of the day trips or long weekends to the tried and tested places, it can be just as easy to go somewhere that the kids will adore, even if you’re on a bit of a budget. Stuck for ideas? Read on to see some of this summer’s top holiday ideas for every budget.

Road Trips

Road trips are one of the most entertaining and enjoyable ways to spend the summer holidays, just travelling around by car with your favourite people stopping off when and where you want to, finding sometimes unknown places that you never knew existed. Not only that, but road trips are a great, budget friendly option for those who don’t have a lot of money to spend but are dying to get away for a couple of days. Just load up the car or van with a tent and some supplies and away you go into the unknown, wherever the wind will take you. It’s a win-win!

Florida

Florida is probably one of those getaways that you and the kids have always dreamt of, so why not make it a reality this year? With so many things to do and see in this one state alone, it’s no wonder it keeps drawing people back time and again. Between beaches, a plethora of theme parks, stunning nature reserves and space fun for the science whiz among you, Florida has a little something for everyone. You can get your Disney tickets before you go, saving yourself time and money on the day so you can get down to enjoying the parks without needing to stand in line for hours just to get in. Awesome, right?

A Lush Getaway

While not everyone can afford that dream holiday to a beachy island in the Pacific somewhere, it doesn’t hurt to dream! Maybe you can’t afford that Tahitian getaway this year, but you might in a year or two. If you can afford it this year though, why not make it happen? After all – you work all year round, so why not treat yourself! A lush tropical getaway is sometimes just what the doctor ordered!

Around The House

Can’t afford anything really this year? Don’t fret. Sometimes a staycation and getting things done around the house is exactly what you need. Take the time to work on projects you’ve been meaning to get to but haven’t had a chance to yet such as gardening, building or painting decks and fences and general home maintenance. You’ll be glad you did!

So whatever your plans for the holidays this year, hopefully this list of ideas will help you make a decision about what you can afford to do and how to get started. Good luck and enjoy!
